In response to the needs of the Chinese government, Microsoft announced the launch of Windows 10 China Government Edition, which took two years to build and is based on Windows 10 Enterprise Edition, while focusing on security and encryption. It also cooperates deeply with Chinese government agencies, CETC, Shenzhou Netcom and Lenovo.
To address the more rigorous and specialized networking environments of Chinese government agencies, Microsoft spent two years collaborating with the Chinese government to create a new Windows 10 China Government Edition based on Windows 10 Enterprise Edition, which meets the security requirements of the Chinese government. Microsoft also partnered with CETC, China Netcom, and Lenovo to introduce this operating system.
Windows 10 China Government Edition was created by Microsoft in 2015 through a joint venture with China Electronics Technology Group Corporation. It is a customized version of Windows 10 designed for the needs of the Chinese government and Chinese state-owned enterprises. This is mainly due to the Chinese government's concerns that operating systems provided by American manufacturers may contain surveillance backdoors. Therefore, it was created through the joint venture in the hope of winning the Chinese government's introduction of the Microsoft operating system and thereby increasing its installation rate in more markets.
In order to meet the needs of Chinese government agencies and state-owned enterprises, Windows 10 China Government Edition can remove any built-in services as needed and can also use its own encryption technology.
Microsoft has already collaborated with national agencies such as the U.S. Department of Defense, the Australian Federal Department of Health, and the Italian Ministry of Defense to introduce the Windows 10 operating system. This agreement with the Chinese government to collaborate on introducing the Windows 10 operating system will not only increase Microsoft's actual Windows 10 installation rate, but also highlight the encryption security of Windows 10.
