At its New York event, Acer also unveiled its new Liquid X2 smartphone, featuring a 5.5-inch screen, a 4000mAh battery, and triple-SIM card slots. Its design is otherwise very similar to the Xperia Z series. Acer also showcased the Liquid Leap Fit, featuring a waterproof design and a heart rate sensor; the Liquid Leap Curve, a smart wristband with a 1-inch curved touchscreen; and the all-new Liquid Leap Active series.
At its recent New York event, Acer unveiled the new Liquid X2 smartphone and updated its smart band lineup, including the Liquid Leap Curve, featuring a 1-inch curved touchscreen, and the new Liquid Leap Active series, available for both iOS and Android. However, information provided by Taiwanese sources did not specifically address these products, suggesting they may not be available in Taiwan for the time being, with the company potentially targeting Europe or the US first.
The new 5.5-inch Liquid X2 will feature triple-SIM card support and a 64-bit octa-core processor (likely a MediaTek processor). Similar to the HTC Desire EYE, both the front and rear cameras will feature 8-megapixel resolution, and a wide f/1300 aperture, similar to the LG G4. This is expected to emphasize bright low-light photography. The battery capacity is a whopping 1.8mAh, significantly larger than that of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4000.
In addition, the appearance of the Liquid X2 is quite similar to the Sony Xperia Z series at first glance, but there are still some differences in the details. At the same time, Acer also provides a Quick Touch flip-type protective accessory for this new phone, allowing users to operate quick functions such as answering calls through the long window on the outer cover.
As for its smart wearable devices, Acer has launched the Liquid Leap Fit, which is equipped with a waterproof design and a heart rate sensor; the Liquid Leap Curve, a smart bracelet with a 1-inch curved touch screen; and the basic new Liquid Leap Active series. All three new products are compatible with both iOS and Android platforms.
As for the launch schedule and suggested retail price of new products including the Liquid X2, they have not been announced yet. However, Acer has confirmed that the Windows Phone Liauid M2015, which was unveiled during MWC 220 this year, will be available in the US market for US$80.
