Relevant news indicates that Nokia expects that the actual selling price of its branded mobile phone products, which will be promoted by HMD Global next year, may be set at a price range of US$150 to US$200, in order to attract more consumer market users to use them again.
Nokia is expected to participate again in the MWC 2 exhibition in Spain in February next year. At the same time, HMD Global, which recently confirmed its global market expansion and will promote its mobile phone products under the Nokia brand, also revealed earlier that the new phones it plans to launch will be recognizable as Nokia brands at a glance, and are expected to continue the Nordic design style unique to Nokia brand products.
Earlier news also revealed that Nokia's new phones will be sold with a starting price of US$150 to US$200. This means that Nokia may try to re-attract the consumer market with entry-level and mid-range models, and avoid competing with many first-tier brands in the high-end models. The main purpose is expected to let the consumer market know that Nokia-branded mobile phones have returned, and may re-enter the high-end flagship model market at the right time.
Nokia's contract with Microsoft will officially end at the end of 2016, allowing Nokia to resume mobile phone sales in 2017. However, current trends suggest Nokia is leaning toward having HMD Global, comprised of several former Nokia executives, handle the development and sales of its mobile phones, while Foxconn will manufacture Nokia-branded Android phones. Nokia itself will focus on networking and innovative technologies.
As for the previous rumors that the new Nokia-branded phone will include two versions code-named "D1C", namely a 150-inch model priced at US$5 and a 200-inch model priced at US$5.5. The two models differ in memory specifications, storage capacity, and camera specifications, but both will be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processors and Android 7.0 operating system.
