Call of Duty: Black Ops 11, scheduled for a global launch on November 6th, hosted an early access event in Taiwan today (October 3st) for PlayStation Plus members, including a team-based tournament. John Rafacz, Director of Marketing at Treyarch, the developer of the Call of Duty series, also revealed some game details and perspectives in a post-event interview, expressing his anticipation for the game's official release online.
This time, an early access event for "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" for PlayStation Plus members was held in Taiwan. Eight teams, including those temporarily formed by players on site, competed against each other. They experienced many exciting performances such as tactical experience and the application of new techniques such as rock climbing. At the same time, many teams even showed a close relationship in the number of kills. In the end, "Happy Partners" defeated "FURY" to become the champion of today's competition. Many of the techniques and skills applied also amazed John Rafacz, the marketing director of Treyarch, the developer of the "Call of Duty" series who also participated in the event.
Treyarch spent three years developing "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3," marking its first release on next-generation consoles like the PlayStation 4. The game's story is set in a future world where the widespread application of biotechnology and cybernetics has expanded the deployment of new Black Ops soldiers. Many soldiers have even undergone mechanized modifications to further enhance their combat capabilities. These soldiers can connect to intelligent systems during combat through "Direct Neural Interfaces," further connecting with other combatants and extending their capabilities.
In a post-conference interview, John Rafacz stated that the systems used in the multiplayer mode will generally be accessible to the general public, including creating competitive matches and setting victory conditions. He also emphasized that integration with esports applications is a key feature of the game, so balancing various gameplay conditions and character skills is crucial. Regarding the issue of some teams equipping all characters with the "Rejack" skill during the player competition, whether this was considered during the original design, John Rafacz explained that such an assumption was made during the game's design. Furthermore, after receiving feedback from the recent open beta, adjustments have been made to the game, and he believes it will not affect the game's power balance.

Regarding whether additional classes or other elements will be added in the future after the initial announcement of nine specialist classes, John Rafacz stated that there are indeed plans for additional content, including expansions through downloadable content and more maps, but for now, the focus will be on the currently announced information. Furthermore, when asked about the "Zombies Mode," which will be the default gameplay element, and whether there will be more story content in the future beyond the two chapters announced at San Diego Comic-Con, "Shadows of Evils" and "The Giant," John Rafacz also confirmed that there are plans for this in the future, but he could not reveal any details at this time.
As for the fact that female players also participated in this player competition event, and the series of games have gradually introduced female character options, whether they will consider attracting more female players to join in the future, John Rafacz explained that "Call of Duty" is not designed specifically for a specific player group, but rather takes the design goal of allowing all players to join the game. Therefore, the main focus is to add more female characters and customization options in the game to increase players' sense of identity in the game.
Finally, regarding whether future series titles will consider incorporating new technologies like virtual reality, John Rafacz stated that Treyarch has just entered the next-generation console platform with "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" and is still in the process of gaining a foothold. Therefore, while Treyarch is optimistic about the development of virtual reality technology, it currently has no plans to develop and apply this technology and will continue to focus on the development of new console hardware technology.
